Weaving
Weaving
A plain weave is the most basic type of weave, where a weft thread is run evenly over and under a fixed set of warp threads. There are more complex weaves which are derived from this basic style. From luxurious shag rugs to versatile cotton rugs, from handhooked to jacquard rugs, a variety of looks and textures can be achieved with the use of a loom. A myriad of colours and yarn thicknesses is intricately handwoven to create contemporary and traditional designs.
Jacquard
Jacquard
A popular technique across the globe, jacquard is used most often in our rugs and bath rugs. Depending on the type of material or fibres used the end product has varying flexibility. Since the design is woven into the fabric it makes jacquard a sought after technique in the industry. Skilled jacquard weavers can create fabrics that are entirely reversible with a seamless negative of the pattern on the back.
Panja Weave
Panja Weave
Light woven rugs are made on the Panja loom which derives its name from the claw-shaped tool used to beat and adjust the weft threads in the warp. This vertical frame loom is ideal for creating beautifully patterned Kilim rugs.
Flat Weave
Flat weave
Flat-woven rugs are created on a pitloom and can be made by 1 to 4 artisans depending on the size of the rug. These are often reversible in nature. Flat-woven rugs have gained popularity over the years for their versatility. They look perfect on wooden floors or stone floors and are often better suited to modern interiors.
Tufting
Tufting
Our facility is equipped with table tufting machines to provide a quicker turnaround on bath rugs and create a more cost-effective range. In this process, hundreds of needles push the yarns laid in loops into a support fabric. If the loops are cut open, the result is an appealing cut pile. A backing material additionally fixes the pile yarn and ensures the stability of the fabric. The desired pile density and number of stitches per square inch varies with different materials. The variety of designs and colours used in these bath rugs make them very popular.
